DEGREE
Before exploring the other features, it’s important to understand how degree works. The degree determines how often a person provides accurate votes. When you create an account, your initial degree is 50%, and it can range from 0% to 100%. Your degree is used to determine the weight of your vote on a modification proposal.
Example
If your degree is 50%, your vote will count as 50% of its full value (see the “Vote” section below for details on how voting works).
When a modification proposal is approved and the majority of votes align with your vote, your degree increases; otherwise, it decreases. The degree is calculated by comparing the total number of correct votes with the total number of incorrect votes. There are four types of votes, each with a different value for degree calculation:
-
“Yes, definitely” has a value of 1
-
“Yes, maybe” has a value of 0.5
-
“No, maybe” has a value of 0.5
-
“No, definitely” has a value of 1
Example
A user has the following previous voting record:
-
1 (total number of correct votes)
-
2 (total number of incorrect votes)
-
Their degree is (1 / (1 + 2)) × 100 = 33%
-
The user then votes on a new modification proposal with “Yes, maybe”.
-
The modification proposal is approved.
-
The value of his correct vote is 0.5.
The updated voting record is:
-
1.5 (total number of correct votes)
-
2 (total number of incorrect votes)
-
The new degree becomes (1.5 / (1.5 + 2)) × 100 = 42%
In addition to voting, there are also two types of duplicate reports, each with a value of 1 for degree calculation:
-
“Duplicated” has a value of 1
-
“Not duplicated” has a value of 1
CLASSIFICATION
All accounts are listed in order of their degree within the classification.
MODIFICATION
There are two kind of modification proposal:
-
Skill group: a user can propose a text modification to one or more skills within a skill group.
-
Overall skill groups: A user can propose a position modification between two or more skill groups. Position modification is a swap and the skill groups involved are voted separately.
Each modification proposal remains open for voting for 7 days. Each user can have only one active modification proposal per skill group, or one modification proposal for the overall skill groups at a time.
It is possible to join a queue to submit a modification proposal. There are two types of queues:
-
Skill group: there is a separate queue for each skill group. It’s your turn when the vote on previous modification proposal of skill group have been completed.
-
Overall skill groups: there is a overall queue. It’s your turn when all votes on previous modification proposal of skill group and overall skill groups have been completed.
A user can submit their own modification proposal within 2 days after the end of the current voting period. If it becomes the user’s turn but they fail to use their queue turn, they will lose degree. At the end of each voting round, if it is not yet the user’s turn, they must confirm whether they still wish to keep their queue position to avoid losing degree. The queue serves to compare an approved skill with a new proposed modification, in order to determine which one is better, and also to prevent duplicates in the archive.
When submitting a modification proposal, a “Yes, definitely” vote is automatically added on behalf of the author. This vote will also be used to calculate the author’s degree at the end of the voting period.
VOTE
The vote you can cast have a score that ranges from 0% to 100%. There are four types of votes, and their score depends on the voter’s degree:
-
“Yes, definitely” has a score between 100% and 75%
-
“Yes, maybe” has a score between 75% and 50%
-
“No, maybe” has a score between 50% and 25%
-
“Yes, definitely” has a score between 25% and 0%
Example
If a user’s degree is 50%, the score of each vote type is calculated as follows:
-
“Yes, definitely” is calculated as 75% + (25% × 50%) = 87.5%
-
“Yes, maybe” is calculated as 50% + (25% × 50%) = 62.5%
-
“No, maybe” is calculated as 50% − (25% × 50%) = 37.5%
-
“No, definitely” is calculated as 25% − (25% × 50%) = 12.5%
To approve a modification proposal, the total vote score is calculated as the average of all vote scores. The total score ranges from 0% to 100% and is divided into three sections:
-
“Approved” ranges from 100% to 66%
-
“Uncertain” ranges from 66% to 33%
-
“Declined” ranges from 33% to 0%
However, since each vote's score depends on the degree, with an average degree of 50%, the probable total score ranges from 12.5% to 82.5%. Otherwise, voting only works properly if all users have a 100% degree. The average total score is divided as follows:
-
“Approved” ranges from 87.5% to 62.5%
-
“Uncertain” ranges from 62.5% to 37.5%
-
“Declined” ranges from 37.5% to 12.5%
A modification proposal is approved if the total score falls within the “Approved” range, that is 62.5% or higher (based on the average user rank).
If an approved skill is identical to a proposed modification, it must be reported as a duplicate instead of being voted on. This ensures that the previously approved skill remains valid and helps avoid duplicates in the archive of approved modification proposals. There are two types of duplicate reports, and their score also depends on the voter’s degree:
-
“Yes, definitely” has a score between 100% and 75%
-
“No, definitely” has a score between 25% and 0%
Example
If a user’s degree is 50%, the score of the two types of duplicate reports will be:
-
“Yes, definitely” is calculated as 75% + (25% × 50%) = 87.5%
-
“No, definitely” is calculated as 25% − (25% × 50%) = 12.5%
A duplicate report is approved following the same voting rules.
APPROVALS
When approving modification proposals involving multiple skills, modifications are approved together.
You can share and display your approved modification proposals. Inside your account, in the “Approvals” section, you’ll find links that you can copy and share.
COLLECTION
You can follow any macro-skill you like, along with 4 micro-skills contained within them. You’ll receive email notifications about new modification proposals and approvals. Additionally, you can view and remove your turns in the queues directly from your account.
